- It has a very, very deep canyon called the Kaligandaki Gorge.
- You can find special round, black stones called "Shaligram" in this river.

- It flows through the far-western part of the country.
- It is home to many special fish and animals, like dolphins!

- This is a very holy and important river in Kathmandu Valley.
- The famous Pashupatinath Temple is on the bank of this river.
- It starts from a place called Bagdwar in the Shivapuri hills.
