Ethnic Group - जात Festival- चाड Festival Description- बर्णन
Bahun, Chhetri Dashain, Tihar, Janai Purnima Dashain and Tihar are the biggest festivals. People wear tika, fly kites, and celebrate with family.
Newar Indra Jatra, Gai Jatra, Mha Puja, Yomari Punhi Newars celebrate with parades, dances, and special food like yomari. They also worship their body in Mha Puja.
Tamang Sonam Lhosar New Year for Tamang people. They dance in groups and eat delicious food together.
Gurung Tamu Lhosar Gurung New Year. Families come together, wear traditional dress, and enjoy music and food.
Magar Maghe Sankranti, Bhume Puja They eat sweet potatoes and sesame food. They thank nature and worship the earth.
Tharu Maghi This is Tharu New Year. They make tasty food and play traditional games.
Rai Sakela Ubhauli, Sakela Udhauli They dance in a circle to thank nature during planting and harvesting time.
Limbu Chasok Tangnam Limbu people celebrate harvest season with joy, food, and dance.
Muslim Ramadan, Eid They fast during the day in Ramadan. Eid is a happy festival with food, new clothes, and prayers.
Christian Christmas They celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with lights, gifts, and singing carols.
